North Yorkshire Police have warned that a major update to the law on dogs attacking livestock has come into force today. The Dogs (Protection of Livestock) (Amendment) Act 2025 introduces a series of tougher measures to protect farm animals and strengthen enforcement powers. Under the new legislation, the definition of “worrying” livestock has been widened.
